Infrared
The practical route when the scene is properly dark. Black and white is less glamorous and frequently the honest answer.
Spotlight
Add visible light when you want colour footage or a visible deterrent. The built-in siren can also be triggered through supported settings.
2K, not 4K
Useful 2688 x 1520 detail from a 4MP sensor. A ferry ticket marked zone two does not quietly become zone four.

Bring the base online
Use a compatible supported HomeBase and update its firmware in the eufy Security app before adding the camera.
Pair at ground level
Add the E40 in the app while it is close to the HomeBase. Wi-Fi troubleshooting feels longer when performed above a wheelie bin.
Test the actual view
Use live view and motion testing to adjust angle, sensitivity and zones, then mount where the solar panel receives useful light.

Warranty
CamGuard Australia provides its own 12-month warranty. It is not a eufy or Anker manufacturer warranty. Australian Consumer Law rights continue to apply, and CamGuard Australia covers return postage where the item is faulty or not as described.
Change of mind
Request an eligible return within 30 days of delivery. The item must be complete and unused after receipt. The buyer pays return postage and the original shipping charge is not refunded. No ferry-terminal interpretive dance is required.

Can this E40 operate without a HomeBase?
No. This is an add-on camera and needs a compatible supported eufy HomeBase, sold separately. It has no supported direct-to-router standalone mode. If you are building your first eufy system, choose a kit containing a compatible base.
What does Manufacturer Renewed, Good mean here?
The unit was previously used, then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's renewal programme. Good is CamGuard Australia's middle cosmetic grade, so light-to-moderate housing marks are expected. It arrives in renewed non-retail packaging. We do not open sealed units and do not claim we tested your individual camera.
Is every mounting or charging accessory definitely included?
The E40 camera itself is included. Loose accessories such as a mount, screws, charging lead or printed guide can vary between renewed parcels, so they are not promised unless specifically confirmed. Contact CamGuard Australia before ordering if a particular piece is essential to your installation and we can confirm the shelf parcel.
Will MaxColor show full colour in complete darkness?
MaxColor benefits from available low light through the f/1.0 lens. In complete darkness, infrared is the practical mode; the built-in spotlight can add visible light when colour footage is preferred. The camera has options, not the power to negotiate a new streetlight with council at midnight.
Is there a monthly fee for local recording?
No required subscription applies to supported local recording through the compatible HomeBase. Optional paid services remain optional. Storage capacity and retention depend on the HomeBase and its configuration, so this add-on camera does not arrive with a tiny private data centre hidden behind the solar panel.
How quickly does CamGuard Australia dispatch?
We do our best to send orders from Townsville the same day. Same-day to 1 business day is our typical dispatch time; during busy periods it can extend, though that is rare. Australia Post tracking follows once the parcel enters the network. River conditions do not apply because your camera travels by road and air.
Does it support Apple HomeKit, Alexa or Google?
Apple HomeKit is supported through a compatible HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3, subject to eufy firmware requirements; HomeBase Professional S1 is also on eufy’s current compatibility schedule. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are also listed through a compatible system; keep the HomeBase firmware and eufy Security app current.
